Why Colleen Hight Photography?
I am a full-service portrait photographer, which means I guide you all the way through to having your images up on walls, stored in albums, or preserved in whatever way you will enjoy them best. You won’t be left trying to figure out why the picture got cropped funny, or why the colors don’t look the same as when you saw them with me.
I work with you to understand your needs so your session is designed just for you and your family. You will have everything you need to prepare for your family’s session so you can enjoy it. And because we will have worked closely to coordinate preferences for colors and style, your images will capture the beauty of your family’s relationships and fit perfectly in your home.
If you are ready for a portrait experience that creates more than files, if you are ready to see your family on your walls where you can find joy in them every day, and maybe most importantly because I work hard to make your session fun. So you are left with not only beautiful portraits, but fun, sweet, precious memories that you will be reminded of every time you see your images.
Outside of photography, I am a wife and the luckiest mom on earth to two very sweet, very energetic boys.
I love fashion blogs, although my standard uniform is jeans and a t-shirt. My favorite family activity is golfing, and I hope like crazy my little ones love it too (foursome!). I think relaxing on the couch with takeout and a movie makes a great date night. A good chick flick and a bag of Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels are tied for my biggest guilty pleasures. Especially together. I love to read, and really love learning new things.
When I discovered photography, I found the first thing I had ever had an inexhaustible desire to continue learning about. And luckily… there’s always something more to learn! If I’m not with a client or with my family, you can find in and around Johns Creek, learning more about the many facets that make photography so fascinating to me.

Why Professional Portraits?
And it doesn’t stop there. Our children insist on changing and growing and becoming even more amazing as soon as we turn our backs. Those curls on her head? That adorable face that he makes all. the. time.? How she snuggles into you, the way he loves to make you laugh? Professional portrait sessions are the perfect way to document all those adorable, endearing attributes that make your family you, before they give way to the next stage.
As a professional photographer, it is my goal and my joy to document your family’s story with images you will love, display, and enjoy for a lifetime!

What I Love About Johns Creek!
Let me just get this out of the way: Johns Creek is a wonderful city! Now you know how I feel, here is why. It has a fairly large population at around 80-90K people, but still feels close-knit. Part of this is due to the city working hard to plan events that focus on community. There is a Founder’s Day Parade every year which also brings excitement and unity. Annually, there is also a Johns Creek Arts Festival that is held to encourage young children to join the arts and to celebrate people of the arts. The Easter Egg hunt at Shakerag Park is always awesome and very well attended, and of course what city would be complete without Touch-a-Truck and Food Truck events? The calendar has lots of events for different audiences, and people participate. As a mom and a photographer, I naturally keep a close watch on parks, and Johns Creek has some great ones. Autrey Mill is one of my family’s personal favorites, and of course the puppy playground at Newtown Park is pretty amazing. And last but not least, the shopping and restaurants… So. Many. Options! Lots of great small, local shops and restaurants in additional to the ones we all know and love.
