Spoiler alert: You may have guessed already, but this stunning redhead’s mama is an equestrian. I always ask my newborn client parents if they have anything special to them that they’d like to incorporate into their newborn session. If I can do so safely, I will work their personal accents in, to reflect their personalities, loves, or hobbies in their baby’s portraits. So naturally, this little one’s mama said “YES! Let’s put the baby on the back of a horse!” Okay, no, of course she didn’t.
But she DID have some beautiful accessories that were the perfect personal accents to reflect her lifelong love of horses that were perfect for our session. Don’t you just love the patina of the leather in the saddle? I could stare at it all day. Except for, you know… life. But it is always fun to see what interesting things parents come up with to add meaning to these first portraits and memories of their brand new babies!
If you think the saddle was a fun accessory, you should have seen what we tried to get into the studio for her dad… his Porshe! Unfortunately the ramp was too steep, so that one will have to stay on my bucket list for now. If you’re expecting and have any questions about what types of items or heirlooms can be safely incorporated into a newborn session, feel free to contact me. I’m happy to help you navigate the fun and exciting process of planning your own newborn’s portrait session.
